Sunroom Addition

What could be better than capturing the benefits of the outdoors without any stress from the elements or insects? That is where a sunroom can become the perfect oasis. This glass-enclosed addition to a home gives you the sun warmth and views of the outside inside! Known by various other names, such as sun porch, solarium, porch enclosure, glass enclosure, or Florida room, they all have the same effect, no matter what you call it!

Why Add A Sunroom

This particular type of addition adds value to your home and functional, affordable space. In some instances, you may have an existing porch or screen porch you want to convert into a screen room, or your sunroom can be a new addition.

Either way, a new or existing sunroom addition is much cheaper than a full-room addition. However, adding it adds value to your home and additional living space. This sunny, naturally lit room will require less electricity to heat and illuminate.

Additionally, this space can be healthy for you. Studies show that people living in places with an abundance of natural light are generally happier than people who don’t. Some doctors find that natural light alleviates anxiety and depression. Whether you use the sunroom for work or leisure, it is beneficial either way!

Types of Sunrooms

The sunroom concept is simple, but there are several different kinds of sunrooms to consider based on your needs, space, and budget.

A traditional sunroom is an actual addition to your home, expanding your existing home with wood, drywall, and roofing. The difference between a standard addition and a traditional sunroom is the number of large custom-built windows to fill the space with light.

Imagine being surrounded by nature while still indoors. If this is your vision, a solarium is the sunroom for you! Surrounded by glass on all sides, including the ceiling, an aluminum framing system allows you to install heat and air conditioning. Insulated glass keeps your energy costs down while you enjoy the room year-round.

Speaking of year-round enjoyment, a four-season sunroom is a room you can use all four seasons of the year, no matter the climate. The ceiling may not be glass, but the remaining walls are made of insulated glass to keep your views expansive. Heating and air conditioning keep you comfortable no matter the weather.

You can use your three-season sunroom in Spring, Summer, and Fall. We design it using an aluminum frame and either single-pane or double-pane insulated glass. However, unlike the all-season room and solarium, three-season sunrooms are not intended to be heated or cooled continuously.
