If you want additional elements like mirrors, outlets, or lighting, consider them when choosing the size and vanity placement. Also, know where the plumbing location is. Moving the plumbing adds time and work and increases the project’s cost.
The standard countertop height for bathroom sinks is 31 to 35.5 inches; depending on the user, we can adjust this with some vanity options. Vanity widths range from 12 to 84 inches. However, the standard widths are 24, 30, 36, 48, and 60 inches. The third dimension, depth from the wall to the sink’s edge, ranges from 17 to 24 inches.
Lastly, know if you are buying a vanity without a top. The top you choose will add another element to the sizing and measurements you must account for. It must fit with your vanity and be within your bathroom’s designated space.
Bathroom Vanity Types
Even within the types of vanities, you can make combinations and customizations. The primary bathroom vanity types include pedestal, free-standing, floating, vessel, and corner.

Floating vanities are wall-mounted. They are securely attached to the bathroom wall and have no legs to connect to the floor, offering a sleek, modern look. They still have some storage ability and a double one single sink option.
Vessel Vanities
Vessel vanities have a traditional base, but instead of a sink below the counter, a bowl arises from the sink with a separate tap. A vessel sink can be ornate and made from water-resistant materials, including glass, metal, or ceramic.
Corner Vanities
Corner vanities work great in small bathrooms. They allow you to use the limited space by adding storage below. At the same time, the triangle-shaped vanity fits nicely into a corner.
